May 12, 2012: Honoring Sylvia Thomas Cambas – Military Spouse of the Day!
Sylvia is a Marine Corp wife of nine years. She and her family are currently stationed at Robins Air Force Base in Georgia, but will be PCSing to San Diego in the near future. Like many military spouses, Sylvia’s favorite part of being a military spouse is having the privilege to say that she is married to a wonderful man in the military.
If she could go back in time and give herself a piece of advice before becoming a Military spouse, Sylvia said to be “prepared for changes in our schedules. Being a military spouse is not as easy as it seems. It has its advantages and disadvantages.”
“I wouldn’t say that I am an outstanding advocate, but I try” Sylvia says, humbled. “I research and ask questions about my son’s special needs. And if I feel real strongly about something having to do with him, I don’t back down.”
