Proudly Supporting all Military Families with a Special Needs Dependent
Nadine is an Air Force wife of nearly 5 years. The Batchelor family is currently stationed at Nellis-Creech Air Force Base in Las Vegas, Nevada. Meeting new people, especially EFM families, is Nadine’s favorite part of being a military spouse. She also enjoys her cherished, close-knit community within base housing where she lives. “No matter where the military takes you, you never lose life-long friendships” Nadine says of her fellow military wives. If she could go back in time and give herself one piece of advice before becoming a military spouse, Nadine says, “Be ready for anything, and NEVER take your husband or the military for granted because nothing in life is guaranteed.”
Nadine understands how hard it is to move to a new duty station, be told “Welcome to ____, now go find your own information about the area. Good luck!” So she took it upon herself to help others in that situation. “It’s very hard and being a mother to four children with special needs. I learned a lot the hard way and didn’t want others to have the same struggle.” Nadine began a Military special needs Facebook group a little over a year ago and just started working with our housing office here on base to create amazing events for all EFM Families at Nellis-Creech. “We are now doing EFMP Sports days once a month and we also have EFMP swim time two times a week at the pool” said Nadine. The Military Special Needs Network honors and salutes Nadine Batchelor as the Military Spouse of the Day! We thank you for being such a wonderful military spouse and an amazing advocate for special needs!
