Memorial Day Remembrance

Before I knew anyone in the military and had never experienced deployment or witnessed what sacrifice meant, Memorial Day was just a holiday for awesome BBQ, beer, and parties.  It wasn’t until I married into the Military, that my focus changed.  Now Memorial Day has become a time to remember and reflect.  I think about all the spouses whose husbands and wives have made the ultimate sacrifice.  The children that will grow up Daddy-less.  And then I think about my fellow families that are at home today, waiting for their husbands & fathers to return from long deployments.

The real reason of this Holiday is to honor and celebrate our heroes’ lives, and we should never forget that.  So while you’re having awesome BBQ today, please take just a little moment to pause and say a little prayer for our Military.
