Proudly Supporting all Military Families with a Special Needs Dependent
Domestic violence is a critical concern in the military, and is recognized every October through Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The anonymous blog that we published earlier today is incredibly heartbreaking, but real. Many spouses have experienced some form of domestic abuse in their marriage, and there is rarely an easy solution. We want everyone to know that there IS help available for you and your family. Below are some resources that can help, available 24 hours a day.
Please call 911 if you feel that you or a loved one is in immediate danger
Each branch of the military has support programs in place for families. You can call or visit ANY Army Community Service Center (ACS), Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS), Fleet & Family Support Center (FFSC) or Airman & Family Readiness Center (AFRC) – regardless of what your specific branch affiliation is. National Guard Family Assistance Centers are also available in every state. Go to: www.jointservicessupport.org to find your closest center.
These are other resources that have very good information:
• Family Advocacy Programs
If you’re not prepared yet to speak with someone, that’s OK – you can still develop a safety plan.
And please know that MSNN will be here to help you in any way we can – day or night. We can and will help you find the resources and information you need for your family. Do not hesitate to message or call any of us. You can private message us on Facebook (Facebook search: Military Special Needs Network) and we will help you in every way we can. We are here for you.
It's serious. It's sarcastic. It's sweet. It's sincere.
