Introducing our Military Spouse of the Day – Margaret Brown. She is a Coast Guard spouse, currently stationed in St. Louis, Missouri. Margaret says her best experience with the military life is meeting great people along the way to build lifelong friendships with. There have been obstacles to overcome including finding great specialist. Fortunately, they have found some of the best right there in St. Louis. Margaret says that she likes to read books on her phone in order to “de-stress”. Many of our spouses struggle with taking care of themselves, Margaret included. She says, “I haven’t found the time yet to take care of myself too much,” she says, “but when I do, I really like to get my nails done.” Margaret’s best advice for families that are new to the special needs world is “Find a good school for your kid with special needs. Rural schools don’t have much to offer (as far as resources), and it makes things a whole lot more difficult. The Military Special Needs Network honors and salutes Margaret Brown, our Military Spouse of the Day. We thank you for being such a wonderful military spouse and an amazing advocate.
