Military Spouse of the Day: Kathryn Sneed

Kathryn SneedToday, we would like you to meet Kathryn Sneed, our Military Spouse of the Day.  Kathryn is an Air Force spouse, currently stationed in Colorado.

Kathryn says her best experiences with military life has been all of it.  The places she has been, the lessons she has learned, the friends she has met – all of it has been great.  We asked her what the biggest special needs obstacle that her family has faced, and like many of us, Kathryn says this is a tough one.  “I feel like there have been many to overcome. I have two special needs children so the road has been long and hard. I think some of the hardest obstacles for us have been dealing my daughter’s many, many hospital stays. It’s been hard on the whole family along with fighting for a diagnosis and receiving a very rare one for her.”

Kathryn “de-stresses” and takes care of herself through coffee, a hot shower, and dinner with friends.  And her best advice for families that are new to the special needs world within the military is to research and advocate as much as you can.

The Military Special Needs Network honors and salutes Kathryn Sneed as our Military Spouse of the Day.  We thank you for being such a wonderful military spouse and an amazing advocate.
